Hello! I live in central Canada and a small part of my work is to travel around the prairie provinces and the Arctic. I have always had an interest in photography and now that digital age is here, I can share what I see. I have a number of cameras that I use depending on where I go. I currently have a Canon T4I and a Canon G12. I am especially fond of the Canadian north after spending 10 years working in the Arctic in my younger days so many of the pictures are of the north.

Thanks Tim, this native shrub (desert broom) is considered a bit of a weed here - it favors disturbed sites and has prolific cottony seeds that make a mess of people's pools ;-) Can be quite pretty though - maybe a bit like dandelions...

Hi there Bob!! Absolutely correct. Satellites can be affected by storms and I believe that there has been problems in the past. I can't remember anything recently but then I don't put in anywhere near as many hours as I used to. I've gone from 1200 which is the limit down to about 60 hours a year now. VOR's and NDB's are not affected especially the old style that were built before the newer technology. With that being said GPS will eventually eliminate these types of navaids and is already well under way. With our aircraft I only use VOR's and NDB's when I am doing my annual training and have to demonstrate that we still know how to use them. Cheers Tim

Thank you Daniel! I hope that you have had a chance to go through my gallery of the north! Have a great day! Tim
