Phaedrus Fleurieu's conversations

Far too many, far too soon. Greetings from South Australia.

Good that such monuments remain silent: thank you. Greetings from South Australia.

Demolished 7 April 2016 after 99 years. Key elements were taken by Council and National Trust.

Such iconic corner buildings.. Nice to see so many still operating after a hundred + years.

Beautiful classic memorial. A nice series of photos!

Strange to see such ornate gates, I've never understood the need for gates on a cemetry anyway, as people on the outside generally do everything they can to stop themselves from getting in, and the people on the inside are not capable of getting out!

Impressive and beautiful. L+F. Kind regards, Michael.

If you are interested in history of this mine, Alex Palmers book 'Poona W.A. and the seekers of its Emeralds' is the book to read. The 2010 revised edition is the one to get. Hesperian Press 2010 are the publishers. I get a mention Chapter 13. Me? Tony Lee.

Thank you so much for posting your story here. You and your family are justifiably proud of your gallant father and his posthumous VC. His beautiful monument in Mawson Park - a place for silent contemplation - will ensure his memory for all of posterity.
Best wishes.
