This was the freight house for the Penn Central railroad. It is privately owned now but was used as the headquarters for the short-lived Michigan Northern Railway between 1976 and the early 1980's.

This railroad spur came off the joint track between the Ann Arbor railroad and the Penn Central railroad (now all owned by the State of Michigan). The spur went into the brick factory, which was Mitchell-Bentley Corp back in the 1970's. There, employees like me assembled seats for the auto industry in Detroit which were loaded into boxcars and sent over the railroad to the assembly lines down state.

That's the frustrating thing, this is a very popular area for kite flying. I can't expect a reviewer to know that but I was hoping to some variety to the pics for this area.

I really like track pictures, this one is at a nice perspective.
