If you or anyone else does some research, you'll be disappointed to learn that the 'Mile" pier is only about 2460 or so feet long measured from the shore to the tip of the pier. You could also use the Google Maps add-on called the "Distance Measurement Tool". You'll find its about 2820 or so feet short of one (1) mile or 5280 feet.

Don't know why everyone calls it the mile pier? I wish it was, we'd be fishing in deeper water.
