It looks like the tail mark of some bird dear Suzi. It's amazing what a small stone can do to the flow of the tide against the sand. :)
Happy weekend hugs, Amelia

Great beach photo. Thanks for posting it. I was out on the beach feeding the birds today in Virginia Beach.
Thank you, dear Elantar - I often think of you when walking the sand - your memories of viewing our coast from your ship. Hope all is well with you and yours. Warm greetings (O:
I could do with someone like you out and about with me, Jorge. I agree, it is much more likely to be Aeshna mixta, and definitely female. I have to say that I saw lots of these late dragonflies in Norway, and they were easy to photograph because they were so still on windless days.
I will rename it now. Thank you for your visit and amazing knowledge!
With best wishes from Latvia,
I imagine there are some great puddles beneath the bridge today, dears Amelia and Leo, or perhaps just one huge one! It has been raining for 14 hours. I am liking the 550 very much - it has a viewfinder and a large display, and aperture settings. Thanks and happy hugs (O:
This was one of many gorgeous mornings in January. Thanks so much, Leo dear, wish you both were here too. Happy hugs (O:
