Taken during Earth hour 2009. It would seem that Vancouver is doesn't participate well in this day. Monk Restaurant did participate, lights were captured after the lights out hour.
This photo took more than an entire hour (thanks to DFS on my Pentax!) to capture because multiple exposures for every section were required (four exposures each of -2, 0, +1, +2 stops equivalent) in order to create a High Dynamic Range panorama. The longest exposure was 30 seconds which. This scene is made up of 40 exposures.
Each frame was rendered by Photomatix Pro 3 and then stitched together with Autopano Pro Giga. I no longer need to hand stitch. :-)

R£U, Look on the bright side, at least you don't have problem my K20D has. All bulb exposures have a mandatory DFS (Dark Frame Subtraction or Noise Reduction). So my 5 minute exposure located here: became 10 minutes. What a terribly inconvenient flaw in its design!
I am not looking forward to how many meteors I might miss during this year's Perseid shower!

This was a five minute exposure. Although the result wasn't bad for a Pentax K20D, I do not recommend this camera or the newest K7 to anyone wishing to use it for long exposures!
Why? Every long exposure on a K20D or K7 Pentax requires a mandatory DFS exposure. This means a 5 minute exposure becomes 10 minutes, a 30 minute exposure becomes 1 hour! You get the idea! As of today, there is no solution for this flaw in the camera and quite frankly, I don't think Pentax cares enough about their customers to fix this!

Where I am working now. Definitely, among the nicest group of people I have ever worked with. :-)

This is now my favourite panoramic. This is a good example of being in the right place at the right time and also proves the benefits of not sleeping in! The original panorama is nearly 70 megabytes or 29000 pixels in length.

One of the cool (no pun intended) things one can do with Autopano Pro is create new photos by stitching to together other photos. For instance, this tree was only partially captured in several other photos (I was up close and the tree is enormous). Autopano Pro enabled me to combine five photos to create a new photo of just this tree as the subject.

The snow capped mountain in the distance is Mount Clarke (about 33 miles or 53 km away).

Good Thai food. Unfortunately, they no longer offer a $12 all you can eat buffet on the weekends. Or perhaps that is a good thing? Gluttony is not a beautiful thing!

An amazing view from the top of Grouse Mountain, even a 180 deg panorama doesn't properly do this view justice. I consider it the reward after the 45 minute climb on the Grouse Grind. Once at the top, one can either walk back down or take a free ride back down on a gondola.

The Elbow room is considered a landmark by many. This is a restaurant 'famous' whose employees are famous for their rude behavior and little to no service (ask for a coffee refill and they will tell you to get it yourself!) If you ever wanted to let your inner trash side come out in a public place, this is where you should go!
Seriously, it's all in fun and it's owners are great humanitarians. If you are not comfortable playing along with the rudeness (you're in the wrong place), they will tone it down a notch.
The food is actually pretty good home-style comfort food and if you don't clean your plate, you have to give a donation to a charity.
Highly recommended Vancouver experience!
