Hi,
I did a daytrip to Benda and Rende from Waingapu, East Sumba's capital. There are several hotels in Waingapu. The nearby small town from Rende is Melolo, but I'm not sure if there is accommodation in Melolo. Benda Beach isn't actually a tourist area. Located in the Kaliuda Village, it is developed for seaweed farming area by the local people. In Kaliuda Village you can find the beautiful and famous Sumba's traditional ikat weaving.
