Merry Christmas to you too, sir! Maybe I'll have to go back and take a winter shot here- we are buried in about 2' of snow now. .

"I can't believe that this has only been viewed 19 times in 6 weeks :("
Im not surprised. My photos taken en masse are too variable and idiosyncratic, and to other people, nodoubt boring, to be popular. Not that I'm bothered. Photography is mainly something I do for myself for a variety of different reasons (as is all this posting of images at Panoramio) not for other people.
The technical discussions appeal to the nerd in me, though.

Many thanks David - yes this was one of those cold, clear winter evenings, and I think anyone could have taken a beautiful shot in those conditions!

StephenGB, thanks. I am new to close-up photography (about 2 months now). That's why you see quite a few close-ups in the first 2 pages of my gallery. After that, it's most all scenery and larger wild animals. Best regards, David

Shot with a Canon A650is at full wide angle, 7.44mm (approx equivalent to a 35mm lens on a 35mm film camera), handheld in 'Stitch Assist' mode, 10 frames at 4000x3000px, 80ISO, Daylight white balance, -0.3EV. Stitched in Photoshop CS3 using the Photomerge command set to 'Auto'. (go and make a cup of tea while PShop is chugging thru this!) Brightness/Contrast adjustment top layer added to adjust entire image. Saved. Full res composite then flattened and scaled down using normal bicubic interpolation and saved as a JPEG for upload.
