Valerio: I spent the lat 20 years reconstructing location, stories, stills, behind the scenes memoraiblia etc.
the silos (exact location is-was- 34°27'4.70"N 120°25'15.53"W) yet you will not see it because it was taken down on 2006. If you do a time lapse on Earth you'll find it easily though. That was the shooting location and were the malibu-lilke wall was built for the film. I don't have access to the place so I don't know if some of the wall structure is still there after almost 40 years. Let me know if you can find any recent pics of the actual place where the stairs were.
