Stu, trouble is, I've been a keen weather watcher since the mid seventies in connection with a serious angling addiction. I remember being amazed at how much more intense the sun seemed compared to my southern stamping ground when I started my mine-working career in Newman (late '73). These days, it's much more like that down in this part of the world, even in winter. It's fairly subjective and could be due to the ozone layer (not global warming) but it's a noticeable fact.

The only time I've ever kept a fishing log was between 7.12.80 and 19.9.82. I kept weather maps published in the West Australian for the majority of those fishing days (70 trips in that time in 4 seasons). The surprising thing is that both summer and winter highs for that period were mostly of no more than 1026-28 mBars. The highest I recorded was 1032 mB. Nowadays we are getting summer highs at 1040 from time to time and 1034-38 is not uncommon even in winter. Changes have happened. And even though it could be a cyclic thing, anyone who thinks we can keep pouring CO2 in ever increasing amounts into the atmosphere without effect, doesn't understand the problem - or want to?! :/

Thank you Rita, glad to see that you liked it...Brian.
