You are welcome Xavier. I consider myself very lucky to have visited the places I have been able to photograph. Southern Utah is a wild and beautiful place. We have enjoyed watching the tour de France -- just so we can see France!
Very nice picture. I have been down the path 2Xs. The second time we were shooting for the butte in the background of your picture. It is on the map as Deer Point. We only had a day and were not able to find a route through the fold, but your picture is so clear, I was really happy to see it again. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for your kind comment about the 'Sleeping Chief" picture - did not know it was called that way. I love your pictures about the Southwest - a place I travel to almost every year. Will be there in September for a trip with the Sierra Club in Canyon de Chelly.
I could not hold a job in Page because I'd be out every day looking for some place like this. This was down hole in the rock road and then up the sooner slide -- again a number of years ago. Not sure what kind of condition the road is in. This gets you to the bench. Then there is a cattle trail to the top -- maybe 600' to 800' elevation. Then there are a few miles to the edge to see Navajo Mt. This is one of my favorite places on earth becasue it is so isolated and I've only managed it twice.
just love them red rocks. thats part of the reason we live down here in page, az. loved the pix you took along the whole trip. i'm sure you thot it was well worth the time kat

There are plans afoot to replace the building as part of a development.
