Visited the Crater last year when on holidays, I was amazed by its sheer size, and had a great time at the visitors centre too. Nice shot :)

Beautiful there is place beside you in USA.

A volcanic crater resulting from an eruption interacting with subsurface water with explosive results. Surface rock along with magma are ejected into the atmosphere leaving the crater, the bottom of which sits below the pre eruptive surface. Hunt's hole, a few miles south is another example of this phenomena

years ago when i lived on the border of las vegas and the henderson boarderline there was a similar one just outside of my walking to it, shame on me for not going out to get a closer look. then here i was that close and never went to see the grand canyon either. what a shame after looking at your pictures. i see rain in one of the pictures, when it rains there, it rains huge drops for weeks, frogs come out of nowhere and almost cover the ground, that is amazing site, did you see frogs while you were there?
