This engine, No 36 (of 50)used to run from Dublin to Cork and back in the late 1800's. Sometimes it never made it. Five of them were found under rubbish in the 1950's in the Dublin depot.They never knew they were there.They scrapped four and restored one!!.
We stayed two nights at the inn you see at the base of the castle. Awakening I could see the Cliffs of Moher by my left foot and over there by my right were the Aran Islands. How glorious was that!

Crottys bar is stone building behind the lamp standard. Ver good music festival held there.
What a great pub this is. Heartily recommended.
