✭ Jim Mills - (formerly "beamish boy") - A philosophical wanderer of mountains and wild, beautiful landscapes for many years. Now I hope others can experience a small taste of those wonderful places, at least visually in these mainly old pre-digital photos. ✭ As well as the outward journeys partially depicted in these photos, there may be detected an inner journey, influenced by these outer journeys. You, my fellow Panoramio friends and visitors, are all part of this greater journey that we all make. ✭ These are more than just photos, they are also a chronological documentation of my travels, where I live, and the passing of the seasons. ✭★ I now have a companion site at this link: http://www.panoramio.com/user/513158 ✭✭✭ PLEASE FEEL FREE TO VISIT MY EARLIER PHOTOS. Perfekte Aufnahme!

Thank you my friend Jim for your visit and your appreciation. An waterpainting like this and the photo of it is my private test : did I understand the atmosphere I felt, when I stood at this place, silent with open senses? Photos of that place only help me to analyze the components, the essential lines of front, focussed object, background, light, shadows, colors.I'm dabbling/ich dilettiere in the old-fashioned way. My favourite painters are Altdorfer, Dürer, Goya, Turner, Hodler, Gabriele Muenter, Otto Dix, Lucian Freud. Your icon of C.D.Friedrich show the Einstellung / attitude towards the world to be percepted: take a position, stand still and open your senses. This attitude may be the only similarity between the CDF and me. In your gallery I find many pictures expressing the same attitude. Thank you for your visit and come again! Kind regards, Hans

I love the beautiful mountains of rocks. 人 人

Thanks very much Hans for your praiseworthy comments on three of my photos, all without "photoshop", though the Wells Cathedral photo was enhanced using "PhotoEffects" software! Glad you like my icon from C.D.Friedrich's painting. It does symbolize my own Romantic appreciation of Nature, which I love to try and portray in my photos. Kind Regards - Jim
