They are by the Ocean, where a Portuguese soul is at home.

Unfortunately their faces were vandalized by the locals, as were the Portuguese coats of arms in the fortress and elsewhere. Some of these people don't value their heritage.

Este monumento representa o pelorinho da antiga vila de santana que actualmente é cidade.Também existem noutras antigas vilas.
