Andrew, Thanks for getting back. If it is decided we need the picture I will email you as you suggest and tell you in what context it would be used. You can then send the high res image. Of course you will be fully credited as the photographer. As far as modification it would only be the sky and the grass in the foreground. Would you be happy with this? We are also photographers as well as designers and this would be done sensitively and only to further enhance the image. many thanks, Angela

What a small world! The Midland Bank building in the centre of thye picture was my first large architectural project after qualification. If my memory serves me correctly, it used to be the "Palace Theatre".
When we started demolition, I went upstairs to see what there was up there and managed to rescue three "Halford Cycle Co Ltd" catalogues which I still have. Two are from 1910 and one from 1911. a "Halford" Popular Lady's Cycle was £3.19s,6d in standard form. If you wanted Sturmey-Archer three speed gears then the price went up to £4.14s,6d.
In addition I also found two Michelin "Illustrated Michelin Guides to the battle-fields (1914-1918)for Rheims and Amiens published in 1919.
I shall post photos of them.

A 'Ha Ha' is a low retaining wall and a ditch that allows uninterrupted views of open countryside from a garden without the need for a fence or hedging to keep the livestock out.

Fantastic! I'm afraid it wouldn't last 5 minutes without being defaced in the uk, or in many other places.

I don't know if it's an optical illusion caused by the building only having 3 sides, but in photos the walls always appear to lean outwards!
