I've never heard that rapid called House Rock. I've always known it at Split Rock or Atom Smasher (for the Yankee nuclear power plant that used to be a mile upstream) or Atom Splitter. Anyway, I swam this rapid on my first kayak trip on "the Dryway" and I'm glad I've never swum it again. Swimming this rapid can be a rough ride.
