Hi Grant, My father used to work here, in the 70's not sure of the exact years, but I do remember what the place looked like. Very cool to see a photo. Thanks Linda
Just looking for someone with knowledge of the Wau Bulolo area for a small mining operation I am considering with some local landowners between Wau and Bitoi on the coast downriver.
Salty51 is correct - the Australians with air supply from the Americans to the strip during the battle stopped the Japanese at the end of the strip -except strip has grade of 1 in 10. It is 1000m long with a fall of 100m from one end to the other. The battle of Wau by Philip Bradley gives an excellent account of this campaign
we spend days and nights in this club and sometimes we don,t know, how we found the way home.
great games,,great partys and a great beer.
if someone knows the club and played there send a short mail to me , i was a member 1994 to 1998

Dear Sir, thank you for the photos, I left Ok Tedi in 1985 and lost all my photos, and it is great to see the photos of the place again. Mike Thorne
I love it for what it is.
Remories of when I was in PNG working there for Six Years in the early 1970's,
Three years on Bougainville Island first and then Kundiawa, Clearwater, & Lae.
Awsome being there.
Have a friend in Hidden Valley.
