Very unusual for Bruges where almost 99% of buildings are made out of brick. This is probably one of the last examples of wooden architecture in the city from the Middle Ages before transitioning to brick. Thanks for sharing!
Actually at Houghton-St-Giles about a mile (1.6km) from the Marian shrine of Walsingham this was originally a wayside chapel for pilgrims built in the mid 1300s.
Used as a farm building from the 16th century it was bought and restored privately toward the end of the 19th century and opened again for worship in 1934. The statue is of Our Lady of Walsingham.
Llivia is not actually in France, as the map shows, but is a Spanish enclave, completely surrounded by France. As part of the Spanish region of Catalunya (Cataluña,Catalonia) its official language is Catalan.
