I was in the landing force that day on LST 698. I was the OinC of LCT 898 that was side launched from LST 689 after she pulled off the beach in the initial landing. We (LCT 898) remained in Leyte gulf after LST 689 continued North for other landings. I remained in Leyet Gulf for 13 months joining the ADCOM staff in June 1945, departing for the US on Nov 20 1945.

Hafenanlage von Hilongos. Mit Fahen geschmückt anlässlich der Fiestafeierlichkeiten in Hilongos im Dezember 2008. Hier landen die Fahrzeugfähren von Cebu und Ubay (Bohol), sowohl als auch die Passagierfähren Gloria 2 und 3 und Roble von Cebu. Schiff im Hintergrund: Gloria 3, schnell, sicher und immer gut gewartet.
