I was there with 45 cdo. 1966/7. remember visiting the crescent for a pint or two and ending up with my mate in a crummy small jail, after saying too much to local copper.

This is a really nice cool place to have afternoon tea followed by a Singapore Slig: worth every cent to visit. I was first here in 68 while serving in Royal Marines But could not afford it then. but managed it 25 yrs later.

If you go to Alex dont miss a cool stella beer on the Cecil Hotel roof garden ( the china house) realy fantastic views as you relax day or night
