This sunset view of some locals sailing the Ashley River(West of the Charleston Peninsula)is a great example of the reason why so many people visit and often move to Charleston ~ because it's just so beautiful!

As noted in the pictured plaquard on the Ocean View side of dually owned OCEAN GROVE cemetery in the old village of Mount Pleasant, SC ~ Mr. Edmund Jenkins, a World War I veteran, was the first elected black Town Marshal in Mount Pleasant, serving from 1920-1927.

Beloved ART'S is one of the locals' favorite live music venues. Many of the best local and visiting acts have been featured "performing Art's" over the years! For more information on Art's Bar & Grill and their musical line up, please visit www.CharlestonSCene.net!

The Pickett Bridge, often mistitled the Pitt Street bridge, is named after Dr. Otis M. Pickett and his wife, Mrs. Ruth Pickett in recognition of their lifetime of service to the citizens of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This small bridge used to connect to Sullivan's Island and Fort Moultrie...but now is a beloved boardwalk lined with Palmettos used for fishing, excersizing or simply enjoying the panoramic view of almost every other bridge in the area (pictured in the distance is the largest and most famous, Ravenel Bridge which connects Mount Pleasant to downtown Charleston).
