Google Earth won't let me suggest a new position. Dering harbor cannot be seen from where you placed the camera's position. Move it about a mile to the northeast and you will be a lot closer.

I question the object in this photo as being an apple picking contraption. Where does the information about this object originate? I will say that it appears to be a "ladder", the stairs used in assisting a person to navigate over the pasture fence barrier, that an animal contained (horse) would not likely utilize. Simply walk up one side, and down the other, with a handrail at the top.
