I hope this mess is cleaned up. Looks disgusting.

New website http://henri.bourjade.perso.sfr.fr/Bourjade/

I just returned from Wedau about a week ago to bury my Dad. He is Wedauan [of KOubara] and had made his wishes known to us tht he wanted to be buried there when he passed on. This visit was after 12 years. The last time my family and I went to Wedau, we had the luxury of travelling by plane. This time not so lucky. I am disappointed that the airstrip is no longer operational. Anyway, the views from the boat travelling from Awaiama to Wedau are spectactular. Views from Dogura looking out in every direction is magical. Wedau is my home and as I walked around as a local tourist, I was lost for words at the spectacular views. If possible, I would love to live there some day. My family and I also attended church services in the cathedral and just standing in there each time was an awesome experience! It is definitely worth visiting and I don't say that because I am from the area!

Love your picture! But please spell it correctly [Giluwe]

I saw it once [in 1968] from Mt Hagen [a rare view with the normal cloud cover] and the peaks were all covered in snow, with the sun lighting it beautifully. Sorry I don't have a photo.

SITE of old Rabaul airport, at NAMATANAI. close to town and built on the site of a WW2 Japanese fighter strip.

I would like to get some information about this place. If you like to answer please write to omay@libero.it

Hi - Yep this photo was taken about 100 nm north of Kavieng travelling on a medical retrieval flight enroute to Truk Island in the Fed State of Micronesia. So just near the equator would be right.
