One of the conservation methods the State of Georgia, Panola Mountain, and the GA Forestry employs is "Prescribed Burning". This allows the removal of invasive grass species and a fresh start to planting native grasses back into the area. This large open field is slowly returning to an all natural Georgia grass field, with the help of staff and volunteers.
