I spent many childhood years living in this hotel. It was built, owned and run by my grandparents Alf and Agnes Jarvis. It was sold after the war (39/45), after my grandfather passed away. My father Chic Jarvis had the origonal painting contract. I haven't been back to Cracow since 1947. I'm brother Jarvis.
The building at the end of the green fence was the "tempory bar", used while the hotel was being built. Later it was a billiard room. My family lived in it for a time around 1945. The building with the rusty roof was the butcher shop owned by my grandfather, Alf Jarvis and father Chic Jarvis.

Jimna Fire Tower has been under the threat of neglect and being demolished. New technology eliminates the need for fire towers with their commanding views but the Jimna Fire Tower Action Group would like it maintained and developed as a self-funded tourist attraction. JFTAG welcomes support and for more information go to http://www.jimnafiretower.com/

To get to the camping area you really need a 4x4 in a few places and it would be completely inaccassible to a standard car in the wet weather
