I'm a web guru trying to switch to my ebay business (lookup scvstamp on ebay), and have been driving all over the southwest taking photos. I have begun geocoding my archive, and some archives of stamp images -- great technology... Most of my photos are available at about 3 megpixels, and for each area where I've posted 3 to 6 photos, I probably have about 20-50 other photos of that area. I want to show natural places and avoid cities as much as I can. I'm also an author. There's lots of stuff to read for free on my writing site: http://tales.scvs.com

scottVee's conversations

In 1963 I marched down this street as a member of Boy Scout Troop 125 from the Yuma Test Station (Later called Yuma Proving Grounds) in the Fourth of July celebration. The Main Street was deeper then, curbs were very high I guess to handle water run-off when ever it actually did rain. The dusty streets have gone and the whole downtown is much prettier today than I remember it from then. Progress, in a good way.

Unfortunately the original one was blown up in the movie "Universal Soldier" 1992. The two front pillars are original.

The current correct address is 665 East Mingus Avenue. This is the old court house building that now houses the City Clerk's Office.

I was here today! Nice place! Greetings.

Very good shot! Best wishes from Italy, Enzo

Someone sent an odd comment saying "this is not a lake". That's why it says "stream" in the title. It's the stream flowing west out of Discovery Lake, right where I showed it on the map. ;-)

This is at Mohave Valley, AZ 86440

This is not the Rt 66 museum. This is the Mohave County history and arts museum. The 66 museum is in the Powerhouse up the street.

Looking east at the old building there. It was 110 (Aug 19, 2009). The roadrunner was sitting in the shade, panting. That makes it officially hot. ;-)

And our eyeballs were scorching (an odd feeling).

A surprise on our Aug 2009 trip through the area. A nice new mall just off the highway. There's a Quiznos, pizza place, gas station, plus the market shown here and a hotel. It was about 108 degrees out at the time, and very nice inside! A good stop for ice, gas or food.
