The modifications I make to my photos before uploading them to Panoramio are strictly limited to:
1) reduction of file size by decreasing image quality as much as possible without visible deterioration of the photo;
2) addition of year and month to the photo to indicate when it was taken;
3) cropping, but only when it is very necessary (very rare cases; aspect ratio is usually maintained).
