L'Elzet Gites
on Google Maps
My name is Jeaves Ropero and I have been dedicated to developing a French property in the Cevennes, Languedoc Roussillon for over 20 years. L'Elzet is now a unique and delightful Chateau Farmhouse with Gites & private pool overlooking fabulous views and 17 Hectares of woodland, by Saint-Étienne-Vallée-Française Saint Jean Du Gard is just 11km. We are surrounded by dramatic scenery, with superb nearby river swimming. Also Known as L'Elzet Gites, it is a stunning landmark building which has evolved as a project which began in 1986. It started out as a deserted farmhouse ruin, and today it is a "Chateau" that looks as though it has stood for 250 years. It was built using traditional Cevenol methods of dry stone walls using mostly local materials. It is admired by all who glimpse it, and often they call by after asking in our village community (probably the local bar- restaurant or one of the shops here). The builder was Philippe Cheron who still lives in Saint Etienne Vallee Francaise, France today. Our owned photo collection will be a mix of those taken by ourselves, and others taken by our loyal guests/fans (and edited by ourselves), given to us for sole commercial use by L'Elzet and its websites. We think they deserve credit where due and they will be proud to represent L'Elzet Gites here and on Google Earth. We will add their names where appropriate.

L'Elzet Gites's conversations

You can see the old chateau glimpsed behind the village. In the bottom right of the photo you can also just glimpse the river which is crystal clear and beautiful to swim in.
