Fantastic picture. Very beautiful. For me it is hard to see on Discovery and other channels how they demonstrate cutting big trees in ancient forests of Canada. They represent it as a)adventure, b)reasonable measure, c)"environment friendly" action. And it is untrue.

Seen here is a massive snag from an old Sitka Spruce. Loss Creek presents an amazing opportunity to hike through incredible valley bottom old-growth on par with Carmanah. Thankfully this patch of forest is included within the Juan De Fuca provinical park and is easily accessible from the West Coast Highway.
