Here is a clearcut of old-growth forest along Hemmingson Creek on Southern Vancouver Island. Only 4% of the valley bottom old-growth forest remains south of Barkley Sound.

Seen here is a massive snag from an old Sitka Spruce. Loss Creek presents an amazing opportunity to hike through incredible valley bottom old-growth on par with Carmanah. Thankfully this patch of forest is included within the Juan De Fuca provinical park and is easily accessible from the West Coast Highway.
