There are civilians buried at this Public Health service cemetery. Fort Stanton Inc. has made it impossible for the loved ones of these civilians to be buried next to their loved ones. This was never a veterans cemetery. It never was a merchant marine hospital nor is it a merchant marine cemetery.It was a public health service hospital for Americans.
