Uno Wann's conversations

Very small , extremly delicious and tasty

Cactus figs , just watch out for the very thin needles , very painful if you do not take care

the picture with the upper part of the telescope and then a dear swedish astronomy collegue of mine , living permanently on the island

This place was one of the reference points when installing the telescopes on the mountain in 1979 . The first "permanent" telecope was the one in the German tower on the nowadays famous parking lot at the Roque de los Muchachos .The German tower has now been taken away . The 2nd telescope was the 60 cm next to the Swedish Solar Telescope which was the 3rd.

On this picture from the Roque de los Muchachos on the NEE rim of the crater , you can see the other side of the crater 9 kilometers away and in the distance the volcano Teide on the isle of Teneriffe , the highest mountain in Spain . This Caldera is 1200 meters deep .

This 60 cm telescope was brought from the Swedish Solar station at the Isle of Capri , when the whole Institution was moved this island San Miguel de la Palma in 1979 . It was the second telescope on the mountain , the first one was installed in the German tower on the parking lot on the top of the mountain , Roque de los Muchachos , the Rock of the Boys . The german tower has then been taken away , not to desturb the view from the other side of the Caldera de Taburiente , the recommendable place called la Cumbrecita
