Update: My bad for thinking this was a Snowy Egret. It wasn't till I saw a sign at Great Island in Old Lyme CT about Dr Roger Tory Peterson that showed images of a Snowy and a Great Egret. Dr Peterson discovered the issues with DDT and birds of prey. He also built the first Osprey nesting platform at Great Island in 1962. I'd like to dedicate this image to Dr Peterson cause if I bought his book .. I would have not mislabeled this!
