I am a graduate from the Colorado School of Mines with a geological engineering degree. Recently started work in the oilfields as a mudlogger. Climbing and mountaineering is in full force and my lifelong passion now. A few years ago I thought about trying to always take very high quality photos but when I started technical climbing, snapshots with my favorite point and shoot just is easier. I now use Canon SD series point and shoot cameras almost exclusively and love how the photos turn out fur such a small camera! I post loads of photos and beta on Summitpost so check it out. After a few years of inactivity here on Panoramio, I am happy to see the upload process streamlined and I am going to upload photos from many of my climbing and hiking trips in 2012, 2013 and now in 2014. Enjoy and cheers! Matt - May 27, 2014

Excellent! LIKE

Perfect timing of the shot.

  • I know that you take wonderful photos of both foreground and background wherever you are. This other photo is also amazing. Yet this photo will be my favorite!

Thanks so much for the nice comments...I did Downs, Yukon, Pedestal and Flagstone in the northern end. I am really looking forward to many more trips here. I would like to finish the Wyoming 13ers list but that's a stretch lol!

Only 43 views ... oh, it's unlocated. Try 39 5.90' 106 56.60'. Great late season color!

Must be Pk 12,814 off the flank of Henderson Peak. Great lighting!

First off, Randy spends way too much time on Panoramio. He posts great climbing photos & comments on my photos also ... hi, Randy! Secondly Matt, I see (R to L) Helen, Miriam, Bob's Tower, the Sphinx, Mt Wilson, Twin Pks, & some false summits of Henderson, but I don't think Gannett is in the photo. Gannett is famously invisible from here (blocked by Wilson) and Fremont so dominates the view that people can't believe that Fremont isn't the tallest. So I would change the title to Gannett's Companions. That said it is a great photo! BTY, I sent you an email about how I make topo route overlays and would be interested what you learn from your SP post.
