I am a graduate from the Colorado School of Mines with a geological engineering degree. Recently started work in the oilfields as a mudlogger. Climbing and mountaineering is in full force and my lifelong passion now. A few years ago I thought about trying to always take very high quality photos but when I started technical climbing, snapshots with my favorite point and shoot just is easier. I now use Canon SD series point and shoot cameras almost exclusively and love how the photos turn out fur such a small camera! I post loads of photos and beta on Summitpost so check it out. After a few years of inactivity here on Panoramio, I am happy to see the upload process streamlined and I am going to upload photos from many of my climbing and hiking trips in 2012, 2013 and now in 2014. Enjoy and cheers! Matt - May 27, 2014

i've only been up top of Mt Phillips once, but isn't that Wheeler Peak to the west?

This is a spectacular shot! like.

Best regards,

Skylar

My boys, 12 and 17, climbed in and out unaided. There is a small bolt someone set into the rock. I tied off with paracord and webbing to help me get to the steps. The downclimb is the only tricky part. Climbing out is quite easy.

No idea why this place isn't famous. It is an amazing site.

nice catcch and an exciting work, matt

cheers, michael

Fantastic scenery, excellent frame and exposure!

Dang...haven't visited back here in years! Thanks for the kind words. I need to really update my profile :)

Too bad about the weather, huh! Found your trip report on summitpost (http://www.summitpost.org/gone-with-the-winds/753847) ... mid August 2011 ... I was on Gannett a couple weeks later with similar weather!

Fantastic in B&W! L+F
