I love travelling and seeing great places both on and off the beaten path! I also love trying great restaurants (if the price is right) and trying new experiences whenever I can! Life has too much to offer than for us to sit around in the same place, eating the same food, doing the same thing over and over again . . . See and experience the world, my friends, whenever you can! :)

Incidentally, the currently appropriate description, with far more accurate description of my "sea grasses" being "coastal wetlands". Ecology and all that! Welcome to the new Florida.

The power plant, more appropriately to scale on the northern horizon from CR 44in this photo, is closed down for good but safety crew on site for ever or until better science negates lingering fuel rods. What a change three years makes -- closing the plant ats a great loss to Crystal River, but newr technology may be recreated milles and miles to the north likely. Meanwhile, this same view across the here-for-ever sea grass "plains" suffers not.

The Crystal River Power Plant (over a mile north of Shell Island) has been deactivated and now closed down. It is being and will continue occupancy by a maintenance and safe-guard crew. Any "second pant", if ever undertaken, will likely be in a northerly adjacent county, if approved. This photo was taken when the plant was in operation, and there is no longer heat or steam eminating from the cooling towers nor effluent cooling water discharge. Not exactly a beauty of nature, but it is to the north and an otherwise uninteresting Gulf View. That view at night is at Crystal River Navigation Channel, passing passing by and adjacent to Shell Island north shore. Interesting River/Gulf traffic lights but only aircraft warning tower lights on the power plant.

...mankinds remnants over the billions of years. Looks good - even better in its thumb.

cheers michel

like #1 for that view. very nice one.

michael

that is OK - everything is checked. Except this...

cheers, michael :)

I just bought a camera and was out testing it when I found these beautiful flowers with the sunlight highlighting them brilliantly. I decided to move in for a closer look...

The best pizza anywhere, ever! Try a whole wheat crust, with green chile, black olives, and artichokes! Can be a bit pricey though . . . but soooo worth it!

This is my all-time favorite new mexican restaurant and all-time favorite restaurant in general! Try the Asado Combo Plate -- a plat full of steak bits, one big tortilla, cilantro & onion, and chipotle salsa for under $6! It's the salsa that makes it all so good -- smokey, just a bit sweet, and just spicy enough! YUM!
