The local mines research group believe this half winding wheel is not from the nearby Brandy Bottom Colliery. The ones used over the shafts at BB are recorded as 7 feet and 13 feet in diameter. The diameter of the one in this photo is 20ft. It is thought to have come from Donisthorpe Colliery in Derbyshire.
