Starting my journey in photography in 2005 I'm a true exponent of the digital generation. My first two cameras were compact point-and-shoots; I decided to upgrade to the much more versatile world of DSLRs in the summer of 2011. Most of my photos are taken on holiday destinations, preferably under a sunny sky. ------------------------------------------------------------- My gallery here has become rather extensive; for a summary you can use the 'best photos' feature or check out my tag '*Favourites', right at the top of my tag list.

Fantastic picture! Well done. Like - My best regards.

It is quite incredible that you had found these reliefs since they are hidden. Most people never think to bend down to look up at this hidden beauty. As you know the detail survived to not being exposed to weathering like most of the other reliefs. The story about this is that I brought my mother one time here. She was always hot so she carried a water spray bottle. And for some reason she sprays these releifs with the water mist. To all our amazment including the curater who was a freind ofthe family I stay with. All the original colored pigments came alive! It was incredible, the first colors i"ve ever seen in Palmyra. My mother gave the curater the spray bottle as a gift. I don't know if he ever gave permission to others to do this. I know everyone wanted to be sure this would not be a destructive event. Now today May 14, 2015 maybe the last time anyone will ever see Palmyra again. To all my friends, I hope your safe...

Nice shot.

Muy buena captura, me han encantado los reflejos en este maravilloso atardecer.

It is indeed a terrible tragedy, Mats. We have been watching the devastation on the BBC news. The loss of lives, and historical artefacts is heart rending.

And a sky to remember in my Fav's folder too now Nick .. what a beautiful and well taken photo

best wishes ... steve
