Beautiful image. I agree, the actual sky is boring. But when looking at the image I couldn't help but to think "When did the sun start setting in the North?". Maybe a wiser choice could have been some color without the actual sun showing?
Thank you for noteing the incorrect position of the Baptist Church up Tusqitttee valley. I believe you are correct in defining its placement. I have done many pictures throughout western North Carolina and attempted to site them precisely. After coming back to Google Earth some months later, I find that the positions have drifted a few hundred yards - I then reposition more precisely. But I never found my positionimg so far off as eight miles. The system must have burped. Incidentally the little church is placed technically up Shooting Creek Valley. I grew up around the Hayesville community. You will find a mess of my photos on Google Earth. Again thanks for the heads-up.

i used to surf here in front of the mansions before i volunteered to work everyday of the week! i miss those rights off the jetty.
