Thanks for your answer, I didn't notice that these flowers could be amaryllis, but they actually are ! Amaryllis belladonna, in fact.

Stone Peak. The sliver running up and left out of the photo is the west ridge of Mount Alaska. The toe of Judah is under that. (And the house where I spent most of my childhood is just under that, hidden by the terrace. There are worse places in the world!)
