This is Brighouse Bay near Kirkcudbright, not Auchencairn Bay.

Love this shot ...we call it 'the three sheeves' I know it represents 'Marram Grass'

Pre-war this area was entirely woodland until they started quarrying sand for glass making. When sand extraction finished around 1960 the quarries flooded resulting in what we now call Shakerley Mere.

Have moved it to where I recollect. Please fell free to suggest a change if my memory isn't true
