From a young age I loved travelling and taking pictures as memories of the places I have seen. Many of these are colour slides, and some 30 year old slides are among my photos here on Panoramio. With little background in IT and the visual arts, I'm trying to come to grips with all kinds of technology and techniques and possibilities in digital photography. I love the outdoors, but in recent times have been more city bound. My wife is also on Panoramio and we share this great experience.

Daan Prinsloo's conversations

The river runs just beyond the cows and Chinese farmers had an extended vegetable farm on this spot during the 1890s. Why is it not done in the 21st Century? Good heavens!

Ottoshoop is really falling apart. I wish the Ruperts would take an interest.

It is Mary-Joye, but as soon as I started taking these photos I was surrounded by three armed guards who wanted to know what I was doing!

Thanks Hazel, the Cape Clouds are different, and when a front moves over the Mountain, there are often spectacular cloud formations and colours at sunset. Groetnis ook hier van Pretoria. My dogter se huis in Parow kyk heeldag uit op die Berg (as dit oop is). Daan

Quite charming! lovely photo LIKE

Best regards Mary-Joye

I zoomed as much as I could with a 270 mmm lens ...

Thanks Daan and all the lovely Panoramio friends for your lovely comments, much appreciated.

Friendly greetings

Thanks for visiting and liking Umapathy, we came across this balloon by coincidence just as they were setting it up. Cheers, Daan.

Daan Prinsloo, now at least I am aware of the basic mechanism. Well captured :).

Daan Prinsloo, this is the first time I have seen a hot air balloon in panoramio. Well captured & I like it. I also like to travel in hot air baloon, but this is not available in my country (Sri Lanka).
