Daan Prinsloo
on Google Maps
From a young age I loved travelling and taking pictures as memories of the places I have seen. Many of these are colour slides, and some 30 year old slides are among my photos here on Panoramio. With little background in IT and the visual arts, I'm trying to come to grips with all kinds of technology and techniques and possibilities in digital photography. I love the outdoors, but in recent times have been more city bound. My wife is also on Panoramio and we share this great experience.

Groetjes, Daan

You're right Florentine, the photo was taken on 20 June 2010, which is right in the middle of our Winter, and being a summer rainfall area, it was dry at the time. Groetjes, Daan

You're welcome Elios. Maybe we should thank Google for the possibility to translate :-)

Best wishes from Ghent

Are you psychic Daan? I was in Afrikalaan yesterday, the pictures are still in my camera :-)

It's near the port and the docks, I think most nations had there shipping companies established there.

Yep. I've also asked a review for the other inscription about the citizens guilty of insurrection and therefore decapitated or burned alive on a pyre. Wait and see.

Hi Francois, good to hear from you again and thanks for visiting. Regards, Daan

The statue is barely one meter and fits so well in the area that I almost walked past without noticing it. I'm glad you saw and like it Sixten!

(hè hè, eventually I'll become a good photographer!)

Ek sal more gaan loer, dankie.

Bedankt Florentine. Here we have another example of inconsistency in the selection of photos for GE. Groetjes, Daan

Thanks Erhard. Now with President Obama also in SA the world's media are camped on our doorstep. Regards. Daan
