According to information on the site: "THE DWARF HOUSE cist is constructed of large stone slabs; one of the slabs has a so-called gable hole, which is typical of western Sweden. The cist has been restored twice. The name is dervied from av ancient belief that the cist was a dwelling place of dwarfs. Cists of this type are usually dated to the late Stone Age (1800-1500 B.C.). They were inhumation graves for several burials."

A nice photo of a beautiful old church! My farfar came from Gothenburg. I have several pictures of him on Styrsö by the water taken in 1918. They are titled "Brevik på Styrsö" - do you happen to know where Brevik might be? He and his friends were rowing crew boats. Thanks!
