Just north of this point are tennis courts. Back in the early to late 50's the tennis courts was an open grass area we used to call it "greenies". Many a saturday neighborhood (125th st & B'way) softball game was held there. The heavily wooded area norh of greenies borders the highway exit at 125th St. The wooded areawas known as the "trails" to the neighbor hood boys. We played at "Jungle Warfare" due to the dense foliaage.

they shot 'the life of brian' inside here - but it was closed the day we went (typical!)
shame the scaffolding was there - the staircase in the film looks lovely - oh well, maybe next time!
