One can climb to the top of Helgafell for an excellent view. Remember not to look back as you climb it, and make a wish, and local story has it that your wish will come true. This photo is vastly sunnier than it was the day I climbed it and I ended up camping in a borrow pit west of Stykkisholmur to escape the relentless wind.

Sæll Pétur. Þetta er ekki Þorfinnurinn, sem sést í baksýn, heldur Sporhamarsfjall (næsta fjall fyrir utan Valþjófsdal). Eg man nú aðeins eftir nafninu Sporhamar, ekki Sporhamarsfjall, en það er skráð svo á gömlu Herforingjaráðskorti Bestu kveðjur Sigmar.

Ég var einnmitt að koma frá Torreveija í vikuni og hef það fyrir venju að koma við í Altea þegar maður er á Spáni. Gaman að vera þarna á kvöldin í kringum gömlu kirkjuna þegar búið er að opna allar litlu búðirnar og veitingastaðina.
