My photographic interests vary, but I like exploring abandoned places and structures, old industrial complexes, railroads, and so on. Positioning the exact location of shots has become an easy task with GPS track recorders that you can carry with you. It's a little more difficult on the older photos from years ago, but possible. Feel free to comment on any of the shots or share experiences.

It's reminiscent of more modern radar cross section facilities, where a fixed radar beam is reflected off an object to determine it's reflective properties. Look up Helendale RCS for a GE view of the facility that helped develop the F117.

It's either an RCS facility, or an old point-to-point microwave station. There are very few other uses of a fixed microwave dish pointed at the horizon.

Did you know the Erie RR built Moodna "expansion ready?". The cross beams supporting the track deck were made wide to accommodate an additional I beam on both sides. This would have made Moodna a double track bridge.

I was looking for graves of my ancestors in findagrave.com and there was no mention of a Rosenkrans Cem. Found out later that the correct name is Lower Wall Pack Cemetery. I am the Webmaster of Rosenkrantz-Genealogy.org (the original Danish spelling) current being rebuilt. 3 of my direct line are buried in the Wantage area, the rest elsewhere - none here. Excellent picture! Jim Rosenkrans, IV.

I remember seeing this fire as a child. I lived in Kinnelon, and practically everyone in town drove to Butler to see the fire, which I believe raged for more than a day. The smell of burning rubber was overwhelming--probably highly carcinogenic, too. Quite a lot of excitement for that sleepy area in the '50s.

Oh my gosh, it's real! This is in the movie The Station Agent.

We (Selden, Van and I ) used to go up to Vervaets lake fishing and bring it home and stock Rodmans Pond with Largemouth Bass!

I lived just down river from here. My father worked on those ships after his discharge from the navy.

That thing is even uglier close up

Excellent composition!
