THATS how I remember Birdlings! Huge waves dumping down on the steep beach and racing up the gravel... dangerous stuff! We used to collect stones there as kids, then fish further to the east on that same beach. (ie, behind the photographer where it is steeper still...)
The 'Franz only looks small... until you note the size of the people in the foreground, the people further up... will still be a kilometre to the terminal of the glacier. That hole is huge - could easily fit a house into it!
I really like the photo of “Edoras”.
In fact I like it so much, I’d like to use it for the background on my new web site.
There are many reasons this photo is appropriate for the site.
I’d put in a nice attribution, however you’d like it to be.
Can we discuss this in private somehow?

We could say the same about the gorse, bramble etc that appear in the next pic - come in in pillow cases or mattress stuffing... Now through NZ.
The Tasman Sea sure looks quiet this day...
This looks like the Pupu Springs have overgrown with water weed - wonder why? It is darnned cold & was very pure years ago. Now I have to wonder?
