A shot of my favorite place on the planet....A fishing adventure of a lifetime awaits just below that hill. I actually tried to get someone to paint this very picture for me back in the states. Just wait till you see The Rock Pool and what you have to do to fool one of those fish!
Three Kings.....home to Monster trout, eels so big I was afraid to be in the water with them....and a place where I have left a big piece of my heart. The Upper Oreti is a very special place. Tread lightly and protect it with everything you've got. I've visited NZ three times, 3 months each, on a bicycle, and spent every penny I had to do it. 20 years later, it'll have to be a very fond memory.

Well, this is within 30 yards of my first campsite on my first visit (1989), just down the big hill and a ways off the anglers access.
