My photos are mostly of the Western landscape. I try to document the "wide open spaces," and, of course, my photos make things look more attractive than they really are. I generally avoid uploading photos of the classic places because Google Earth will not benefit from more photos of them. Contact me at rmaughan2 AT cableone Dot net

Ralph Maughan's conversations

Great capture! Oozes mystery!

Greetings Ralph, Beautiful shot. I see the run off is done. No snow in the high reaches and the stream is running clear. Time to find some brookies for dinner. Take care and have a great day. Cheers, Rich

Richard Ryer,

Yes, time does move quickly. I woke up this morning to the first forest fire smoke of the summer.

I will go out anyway and hope the smoke is not too generalized.

Bruce MacIver, The scenery and the light was great, but the clouds of mosquitos on this subalpine meadow, drove me out.

It is the best kind of road, but you really need 6ply tires. For some reason they had put a bit of gravel here.

You are right. I have seen the pronghorn and sandhill at times. However, during the summer and early autumn, domestic cattle far outnumber large wildlife.

Bison are never present because the State of Idaho does not allow free ranging bison.
